My life has been hectic lately and I was fortunate enough to find time for myself too so without hesitation, I immediately booked a trip to Siargao with a few friends. I also got to collaborate with a few brands so this trip was a combination of leisure and work. It’s my second time in the island and going back in Siargao, It’s totally safe to conclude that Siargao has totally secured a spot in my heart as one of my most favorite spots here in the Philippines to travel, relax and unwind. This time I was able to visit 3 islands, experience a wonderful stay in Bayud Boutique Resort and booked a direct flight from Manila to Siargao with Skyjet Airlines.
In this blog post, I want to share the places in Siargao that we went to and hopefully, this post will also serve as a short itinerary if ever you’re planning on going to Siargao. ( No budget post for now because everything happened spontaneously ). To know more about the Island, Siargao Island is one of the ‘hidden’ gems of the Philippines and most definitely one of the underrated islands in the country. It is relatively popular to surfers as it is the Surfing capital of the Philippines. But unknown to many, Siargao Island offers so much more than just its famous waves that even non-surfers can enjoy. Not only did I enjoy my stay in Siargao as a non-surfer, I also had some of my successful photography trips on this island. But more than the beautiful sites, Siargao Island offers the kind of chill and laidback island life that everyone could ever wish for. The people are amazing and lovely. You’ll get used to strangers that are going to be your soon-to-be friends saying hello, and kids waving their hands at you while wearing their brightest smiles.
As my second time having a trip in Siargao, I am amazed that Skyjet Airlines has been providing convenient various destinations around the country which Filipinos can now easily discover and explore.
With the hassle-free travels they offer at affordable prices, tourists, both locals and foreign, now have easy access to Philippine travel spots like Siargao, my most recent local destination, Batanes, Boracay, and Palawan. I would definitely book Skyjet Airlines in my future travels with family and friends.

For our first day, we had an early flight with Skyjet Airlines. As far as I know, Siargao airport is only open for flights until 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the afternoon. When we arrived at Bayud Boutique Resort where we’ll be staying for the entirety of our trip, we took an hour to fix our stuff and get ready.
Since we already arrived late in the afternoon and stores in General Luna close at around 5:00 – 6:00 PM,General Luna is the main town where tourists go. It is where the famous Cloud 9 surf spot is located and off its coast are smaller islands with white sand beaches and the clearest waters you’ll ever see. We wanted to maximize the time we had in Siargao so we decided to go to Cloud 9 instead where surfers and other tourists go to fully immerse themselves on the beauty of Siargao.
First destination : Cloud 9 Surfing Tower and The Boardwalk
During our second day, we decided to spend the day island hopping in 3 different islands in Siargao and catch the sunset on Sugba lagoon. A boat costs roughly 1500 to go the three nearby islands (Naked, Daku and Guyam), which can usually accommodate around 6-8 people.
Naked Island is a small sandbar of just pure white sand and clear waters.
Daku Island is a village-island where a small community exists. It is the usual stop for having lunch.
Guyam is a small uninhabited island with coconuts and a few trees that will give you shade when you just want to chill and relax. This is the usual last stop during the island hopping.

On our third day, we spent majority of the day resting and doing some minor exploring/activities at our resort such as ( Roadtrip around General Luna ). Everything at Bayud Boutique Resort is very relaxing from their villas to the beach side and from the comfort food that they serve. It’s my second time staying in here and I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning to go to Siargao.
We also spent the time walking in town to buy some stuff and grab some good food at restaurants like Kermit/Bravo. They serve really good food plus their customer service is also good. We also got to experience Siargao’s nightlife at Rumbar.
On our fourth and last day, we headed out to the airport really early since our flight is at 11:00 AM and it takes a 40 minute – 1-hour drive from Bayud to the airport.
Overall, despite this trip being short, I had so much fun and I also got to relax and unwind. Just as I’ve mentioned before, Siargao had already secured a special place in my heart and I think I’ll be in love with it for a long time. ‘Till next time, Siargao!
P.S ( Me and my friends are actually planning to go back this summer in Siargao. If you want to join us, we’re planning to set a trip for 15 pax to join our trip. Do let me know if you’re interested just comment down below! )
