Build yourself and make connections #MahabahabangInuman
Life is the most beautiful gift we have but you never know how long our life is until it’s over that’s why I’m a big fan of doing things you want to do when you get the chance. Don’t wait for tomorrow or someday, if you get the opportunity today, then grab the chance and do it.
Having a lot of connection creates advantages especially in your career and the way we live today. You don’t get completely close to someone by simply talking to them on social media. Now let’s dig a lot deeper and talk about how to build genuine connections once you’re out in the real world.
It’s okay to get anxious about entering a room filled with strangers but don’t let it get to you. Remember, if you’ve picked an event/party that aligns with who you are, the people you’re about to meet are your people. Approach conversations knowing you have beliefs and ideas in common.
I’ve experienced enough serendipity to know that every new event or interaction has the potential to lead to a new friend, partner or idea. Approach new people that way and it starts to become self-fulfilling.
Some of the most important interactions often end up being the people you never saw coming but you still want to create as much luck as possible. For some reason, I really research first before knowing or meeting someone, because as much as possible I want to have better interaction with them so I think up of good possible questions in order for me to establish a better communication with them (What idea can you share? What specific piece of their work can you sincerely and personally thank them for? What possible interest do we have in common? and etc.).
No matter how unknown or well known someone is, we all share fears of being in a room with no familiar faces, feeling lonely and not fitting in. That’s natural. It’s normal. As soon as you realize you’re in the same place as everyone around you, new faces start to feel a lot more welcoming.
