Is there someone who reads my Blog ?

Is there someone who reads my Blog ?

September 12, 2018 | Comments

Missing the days when I used to post regularly on my blog, I remembered that blogging and writing are my first passions which became my avenue to express myself and basically, sell myself to the world. Blogging has also introduced me to many opportunities that made me work and collaborate with various brands and companies here in the Philippines and even abroad. Telling a story will always be an activity I will never get tired of doing.

After several months since a blog post has been up here in my blog, I thought of rereading some of my blog posts and the memories came back to me; I suddenly miss writing again and decided to refuel my passion for blogging. Although I felt sentimental when I visited my blog again, going on a hiatus for 5 months is a decision I will never regret, and to be honest, it has never been easy. Having been recently graduated from college and receiving a degree, I decided to focus more on myself and the ways on how I could achieve self-growth. This fast-paced world often makes me realize that time is running out and that I have to prioritize. During my hiatus period, as much as I would like to tell stories again through words, I decided to venture a different path.

8 months have passed since the first day of 2018, and I cannot help but look back on what I have managed to achieve for myself. I have focused on travelling with friends and collaborating with brands and companies for work, continuing my passion for fashion, and sharing my lifestyle to viewers through video blogging (vlogging).

Despite undergoing hiatus and leaving my blog temporarily, having a taste of what other content platforms have to offer, I still believe that there is an ember burning inside me, that of my passion and dedication for blogging. Looking back at my early years as a blogger reminds me of the humble beginnings and simple times when I still do not have as much huge a following compare to what I have now. I still owe every single thing to those who supported and are still supporting me from my days as a “blogger” who writes almost anything under the sun, most especially about fashion and lifestyle. My blogging journey has never been a joy ride and transferring to vlogging and temporarily leaving my blog are no easy tasks as well.

During my hiatus, I learned to prioritize things more, I tried a whole new different thing, and explore a new realm outside my comfort zone. Compared to blogging which has become my hobby, vlogging is a new platform for where I can impart myself to others through video. Although I’m not used to appearing and speaking in front of the camera, I made a big decision to try and choose vlogging. From pre-production, production, and post-production, it seems that I’m a one-man crew to produce my vlogs, and honestly, these tasks challenged me and forced me outside my bubble of comfort. Vlogging forced me to brainstorm concepts and contents to shoot, challenges to do, and even what tips and tricks to share. But these challenges did not hinder me from continuing vlogging and enjoying this different platform.

But recently, I momentarily refrained from uploading content for my vlog from February to March in order to prioritize another social media platform, Instagram, where I could easily post content since I still continue taking photos of my OOTDs, places I’ve been into, and collaborations with different local and international brands. During that time, I realized that two of my big platforms, Blog and Vlog, have become difficult to handle, and again, I need to choose what to prioritize. And I chose vlogging.

Vlogging boosted my confidence and helped me further the exposure of my contents to a wider set of people. I have become fond of vlogging since I can express myself through video and somehow have a connection with my followers and readers. In this way, they can easily get to connect with me and know me better. Compared to blogging where words are the only basis, in vlogging, the audience can see me, my facial expressions and mannerisms, and it’s as if I’m talking to them directly.

I have been asking this question to myself for the past few months: Is blogging dead for me (@dgrazon)? During this time, I believed that I found my place in vlogging already and this is where the trend is heading as the fast-changing world never stops. But then, I realized that I should also not stop blogging. I enjoy writing articles and sharing tips about travel and lifestyle to this current generation. In the audience side of things, I believe that reading and writing have been gradually being neglected due to the ever-growing shift of trend to vlogging. Not that vlogging is a bad thing, but my passion for blogging has taught me that reading blogs is a totally different kind of activity, and that reading is also essential for learning. I believe that through blogging, bloggers and other “influencers” can use their platforms in order to talk about what matters aside from their usual content. These times call for people to voice out their opinions and talk about what really matters. It’s not enough to know about them, but is also a necessary to educate others. Through other social media platforms, the least we can do is bring awareness and stay vigilant. I believe that blogging and other social media platforms must be utilized to not just inspire and motivate the current generation, but also to help them through content, posts, and tweets.

So the bottomline is that I don’t want this part of my life to be gone. Blogging will always be part of the Deegee Razon that people know today. Deegeemons from my blogging days and that of my current vlog, welcome to Deegee’s blog and vlog!
